How far along: 8 weeks!
Size of the baby: a rasberry
Size of the baby: a rasberry
Total weight gain/loss: -7 pounds. I'm really disappointed that I lost some more weight this week. I figured out that bagels can do me no wrong and I had 2 solid meals this week (don't laugh that's more than the previous weeks), so I expected at a minimum not to loose any more weight, but with the amount of bagels I've been eating I was really thinking I would gain a couple of pounds.
Cravings: Nothing. I pretty much hate food at this point. Although, I do get random cravings here and there. The most frequent this week is cantaloupe. I find that whatever I crave I end up hating the next day. I don't even think my cravings could be classified as a craving, more just a food that sounds tolerable in that moment.
Food Aversions: Everything! I got very sick the other day when Jason cooked a piece of fish. Now if I even think about fish I start dry heaving. Protein of any kind is pretty much out for me.
Symptoms: Fatigue, frequent trips to the restroom, and nausea. Yesterday I lost my breakfast, was only able to eat the bread from my chicken sandwich, and lost my dinner. I am able to keep my prenatal vitamins down, so my nurse said I don't really need to worry. I'm to the point where I probably need to request some medicine, but for some reason I had this goal of not taking any medicine of any kind throughout this pregnancy. I know the medicine is safe and it's more important that this baby gets quality nutrition, so I just need to get over that.
Movement: I wish! I would love that reassurance this early in the game. I had my first appointment with the doctor this week and it looks like I have an anterior placenta - so I probably won't feel movement for a long time.
Gender: I'm definitely thinking girl and have started to refer to her as a she. The heartbeat was 177 bpm which makes me think girl, but I know that's not always true. Our doctor determines the gender at 16 weeks so we get to find out January 3rd!
Name: Just little sweatpea for now. When we had our first ultrasound the baby was the size of an appleseed so Jason lovingly refers to her as scrawny appleseed from time to time.
What I'm enjoying this week: Being pregnant! Really, I am just so happy to still be pregnant. I also bought my first pieces of maternity clothes this week with my mom - that was so much fun!
What I'm looking forward to: Telling my Aunts and Uncles! We're celebrating my 30th Birthday next Sunday (Eeek!) and we'll share the news with them then. Also, this will be my last week off of school until we have a week off for Thanksgiving break!
Due date prediction: The due date is still 6-22-12, but the baby is measuring ahead of schedule at 6-19-12.
